Discover the beauty of imperfection through kintsugi, the traditional Japanese art of golden repair. In this workshop, enjoy Japanese tea and snacks as you learn about kintsugi’s cultural roots, watch a live demo of the repair process, and take part in the final kintsugi step yourself — applying red urushi and finishing your own piece with metallic powder to take home.
Led by our POJ Studio instructor, this intimate session is open to ages 13+ and offers a mindful, hands-on introduction to a centuries-old craft. Materials to repair your own cup are included.
Spots are limited for each session—reserve your place now and connect with the heart of Japanese tradition.

This 90-minute, incense-making workshop will be held at our Long Beach Workshop space. Learn the background of aromatic woods, and the long history of incense they've inspired. The workshop includes:
- Intro to the historical and cultural context of incense
- Instructions on how to make your own incense
- All the tools and materials needed during the workshop to make your own incense
- Complementary tea
If you'd like to reschedule or cancel the workshop experience, please allow 48 hours of notice.

This 75-90 minute session is a one-off workshop for groups of up to 25 people who would like to learn about kintsugi and its place in Japanese culture and take home a "repaired" ware. Everyone will go through the last stage of kintsugi and apply metallic powder to the piece.
This event is perfect for corporate events, team builds, private groups, creative workshops, and more.
Participants can also purchase a Kintsugi Kit to complete the repair at home after any one of our classes.
If you would like to host a 2-day kintsugi immersion lead by our Kyoto-trained kintsugi experts, please enquire here.
Please note our shop only accommodates up to 8 guests, so for groups over 8 our Kintsugi Specialist will travel to your preferred venue.
