2-day retreat
an immersive experience
Throughout four sessions, across two days, your group will learn about the art form's history, ecology, and philosophy. This will provide participants with a foundational understanding of Kintsugi's context and ability to approach the traditional art form with intention.
Ideal for experiencing a full Kintsugi repair in a short amount of time, this experience will take you start-to-finish from broken to repaired ware with golden finish.
Hosted at your own chosen location, each session is lead by one of POJ Studio’s Kyoto-trained, expert instructors. We will provide all necessary kintsugi materials, including Tsutsumi Asikichi-made urushi.
The hosting group is responsible for venue and meal coordination.

90-minute workshop
single-day offering
If you would like to host a shorter kintsugi event for your group, POJ Studio is excited to offer 90 minute one-off kintsugi sessions.
Lead by our Kyoto-trained kintsugi experts, we will guide your group through understanding the different materials used during kintsugi and performing the final stage of repair. Throughout this session, participants will apply metallic powder to a pre-prepared, ceramic ‘nankei’ cup.
All necessary workshop materials will be provided by POJ Studio.
If you would like to host one of these kintsugi events at your chosen location in the Southern California and Bay Area regions, please get in contact below.
