Rōketsuzome Noren - Gray & Black

Introducing a new noren series featuring the rōketsuzome style of dyeing with wax and water. These abstract patterns are created by first dipping the linen in wax, crinkling it underwater after it hardens, and allowing dye to settle in the disruptions of the wax coating. The technique is a specialty of Kyoto, where there is a 1,200-year history of rōketsuzome dyeing.
